Simpsonize Yourself !!!

Hi everyone! Today we speak about a funny site that some friends noticed to me a couple of days ago... The site is simpsonizeme.com

This is very very funny place where you can put your photo , loading to the site through the wizard, and your face will be magically transformed into a Simpsons guy!

Incredible, I've tried with me and my girlfriend photo and the results is ... far away from the screens that you are watching.. :

Sorry, the Parsing Engine that elaborate the photo is not so powerful and after the first generated face, you must lurk between the options to better customize you SimpsonFACE.

I've tried to recreate myself customizing the noose, the hairs, the eyes, the color of my skin, the age... there are a lot of parameters. I don't know how many they are and if they really influence the aspect, but the results is quite good.

After only an half hour you can view yourself inside a cartoon.

Of course all this funny has been done for a commercial purpose; if you wish, but not necessarily, you can order a cup with your face, or the one of your family components. Otherwise you can download the image and save it upon the computer.

About that I've found a silly bug that didn't let me saves the "file extension" of the image created. A quick binary analisys and I've discovered that the image are in PNG format, so, if you encounter the problem, simply rename the files as : "yourname.PNG".

Then with a good graphic editor (Photoshop or PaintShopPro...) you can handle the images to create some presentations card or birthday invitations, or whatever you want.

Now try, and remember to give a first person image of you! Not your ass! hehehe.

Obscuring Sites - The New Italian Comedy

The New Era gives us a special way to speak and say what we think... a new way to show us as we are, a new way to demonstrate that democracy flows also between a google searching session...
This New Era gaves the opportunity to every people to decide and organize with others people in every group they would.
This New Era, again, shows us that Internet is our mouth, our photo container, our videocamera to the world, and OUR way to BE.

At the top of this Post, you can see that something is not right for us, only because we are Italian. The Top image is a screen taken from a site that ISN't visible ONLY for italians, but perfectly visible to the rest of the world.

I should not discuss why or where this screen has been taken, It' doesn't matter. I don't discuss about the italian journals and italian freedom of speach... It's a sad task to speak about (and we live a non-journalism and non-freedom epoch).

With this site you can freely register and say to your Italian Providers that you came from Burundi (or elsewhere) and you can , SO, watch every Italian locked site.
Probably there are better site that discuss the HOW-TO about that, but this is the beginning for every damned tyranny that try to break your breath, and silent you voice.

Italy has just locked in these days the ability to open the Pirate Bay Homepage and listings.
It's always the same story, sad story, where there is a Rich, the Villains, and the Istruments of power. Well, now, as many time before, there also is the "secrets tunnel to enter and exit from the town without paying the passing tax"... heheheh.
Just Configure (no install/no download) your TCP/IP for OpenDNS and you will see the Pirate Bay for first, and for second you....will Fuck the Italian Regime! Damn it!

Windows Me conflict : Erase and Destroy

All has begun with a failed connection to Internet... the rest is history.

I've just reinstalled my Windows version due to a failed connection to internet. Reading some reviews I've also tryed to install 2 Operative System upon the same machine, partitioning the Hard Drive.
Follow me! Do not try to install Win XP with Win ME on the same HD! It's impossible, because ME is too stupid to understand this, and the formatting process is to old (FAT32) to recognize the other system.

This are the last words of my last "nightmare" month . I've become a scientist trying to find a good resolution for my internet purposes. Win Me, is not very good for networks processing (it sucks very very much.); we can speak about network from windows 2000 or more...

Now every program must be reinstalled and configured... you cannot imagine what a game creator can install upon his machine... this will be my next nightmare... but I'm also happy to be here writings this lines upon the Net.
And while I'm writing (my first 20 minutes on the web) my Firewall has just blocked ...1231 intrusions.

I feel like a red point inside a black paper!
And I must buy a new computer if I want to change the operating system and gaining new coding experiences.

That's all, (and enough for me...)

Informatic without Logistics

There are many things I don't understand (no jokes please :) ), and one of these is the word LOGISTIC.

If I'm listening a discuss with some distraction, the word "logistic" let me think that they are speaking about logic / computers / networks, or something else about coding...
Do not think I'm a fool, but logistic could easily be an informatic terminology, don't you think ?

So I've always felt a bit gelous about this word: L-O-G-I-S-T-I-C.

Is someone tell me that he works as "operator in Logistic networks" , I say:"Wow, what a job!"
Is someone tell to me what is my job :"I'm a coder/programmmer for an agency..." ; mmm, not so futuristic, it isn't ?


The irony proceed when I go by car at job...I see the names of the logistic companies and they are like the following : "Logistic systems", "Logistic NET", "Logistic Future".... Aah, this is too much!
This terminology should be changed or returned to the coders that lurks everyday inside the virtuality of their jobs, using logic, sintax and creating virtual and complicated procedures, and not for a Tir driver that isn't yet able to use a satellitar system and lock the traffic to ask for informations !!! I want a revolution! Corders, let's ROCK!

Vaffanculo Day ("Fuck off Day")

Italy - near August - politics government betrayed again the entire population .

We are living a suffocating air in Italy because democracy is still a far and far away objective.
After the first year of the new government the parliament is still full of corrupted and CONDEMNED mafious figures, mainly associated to the "Casa delle Liberta" (Libertiy home) force, but not just them.

We have 25 persons (if I could say so...) that has been condemned in the past for corruption , thievery, bankrupt, and dark manouvers inside the wing of the law.

Wait! This is a videogame blog, so why I'm speaking about that ? For this time I thow an exception because what we are speaking about is the base for everything, videogames included.

This persons still resided inside the Goverment after the outgone Premier Silvio Berlusconi changed the election method ,about a year ago, locking the democratic election of the candidates.
The new law says that the ones who stand inside the Parliament hasn't been choiced from population, but from the various coalitions choosen from population. This is a trap!

The 8 SEPTEMBER 2007, in EVERY CITY OF ITALY, population will walk on the roads to manifest that we didn't want corruption inside the parliament ! So the Three advanced purposes are the following :
1) Fuck off to every politician that has been condemned . 2) Fuck off to every politician that has been inside the parliament considering this a career (2 ore more legislations). 3) Fuck off to the Berlusconi's modification of the politician election. The choice must return to the population.
Of course, FUCK OFF means Out from the Parliament. Out from Goverment. Out from italians balls.

In these years MAFIA expanded to all my beloved country, and like a web it suffocated the INFORMATION (TV and RADIO are corrupted or gagged), institutions (the law simply didn't work, a process in Italy lasts 10 years!!) and so on.

We, youngs, we don't know what we are really doing this time, but we are sure that's a way to do something GREAT. Against the HIGH CLASS and the MAFIOUS ones we will pacifically move the 8/9/2007 !!!

Come with us if you feel something within! Be accused and be ashamed, probably charged by policy for your pacific manifestation, as Jesus was, but , for at least one time in your simple history, be TRUE!
And be sure, THEY REALLY FEAR the TRUTH!

Beppe Grillo is a comic, but like us, he suffered some more offense from the Italian government.
He is capable to make you laughting about everything, even the worst things! We thanks him very much because this manifestaction has been created by him and his community!

Harmonica for my Games ;)

Hi, in these days I've decided , bought , and started to play the Harmonica. It' s a diatonic Blues Harp (Hohner) Harmonica in key G (SOL).
I don't know why, but in my game (No One Shoots Forever) , all the music has been recycled from midi compilations and this was a little sad to me.

I suppose that al midis are freeware because they are so boring and so unuseful at the day we are... but after doing coding and graphic , music was out of my range. So, today, my subconsciuous brain-subroutines decided for me : my istrument is the harmonica!

I've in mind a country game not so different from Nosf, and i think that it requires some good songs, maybe in wav format, otherwise again in midis. Harmonica seems to be perfect for me: it's cheap (as the autosolved budget of my game), it's country, and it's funny to play even for a noob as me. This was what I've thought about 3 weeks ago.

Ok ,now look at the skeme below:
These are the Diatonic Harmonica notes in key G (SOL in Italy), and all the tablatures I've got are in key C (DO in Italy). I think it's a bit difficult to translate the keys from an Harmonica to another, but this is what I've done to play something.
There are many keys for Harmonicas, and C is for beginners... So, why I don't complicate my life more than it already is ;) ??? Ok, next time, probably a playing test done by me.

Ultima X - Sfigavatar's Crypt - announced!!!

I've lost another Contest - The TGM Contest 2007 - :)
Ok, I do not think to be the best, but the scoop I've reached was the "Ultima X - The Sfigavatar's Crypt" !!

It's a real scoop that should allow me to win somehting, but , damn, I 'm not so lucky.

Here the Screenshot I've found hacking the Richard Garriot websites! A new game about the famous series of Ultima that ended with the Ultima IX Ascension title.

A very famous and legendary saga that pasted millions of people in front of a screen! And the new version is coming out very soon! At least in a year or less.

Keep tuned because it's also a Multiplayer game that allow a single player trama in cooperative mode and , MOREOVER, a massive playing over all Sosaria.

No One Shoots Forever - OPENGL conversion

In these days I've decided to start some OpenGL coding.
The better way I've found is to convert my best game into something that no one can (shoot) forget!

The Pilgrimage has begun and it would take at least some months. I'm not confidential with OpenGL and I think they are great, but very complicated.

Here in Italy, it's difficult to find a manual about that, but fortunately I like English and CHM tutorials.
Using some sharing file program it's easy to get all the manuals and technical information required to move something. The problems came later... when advanced programming occurs.

The conversion I'm trying to do merge the Allegro (www.allegro.cc) code of NosF with the OpenGL code, wrapping this via AllegroGL (http://allegrogl.sourceforge.net) functions and set up.
It's easy , for a beginner , to get lost! The difference between me and a beginner is that I'm a beginner with the head hard as a rock :) .

I'm still trying to understand how to manage the various "buffers" on which the OpenGL writes.
Moreover, some particular test I've put inside NosF must be adapted, describing some info more or doing more controls. Pure CAOS for now, but I can reach my purpose studying some tutorials.

Ah, the best place I've found to try pure Opengl tutorial is NeHe (http://nehe.gamedev.net) .
This portals sucks a lot! I like it!
Of course, it's not so easy to port a pure Opengl program into an AllegroGL code, due to some not-so-clear-to-understand functions that wraps the two ambients.

Lately I've lost much time to set up the 3D ambient as it was 2D ; Then I've searched to made functions that create the proportions between the images and the squares that contain them.
Of course the Blending method , i.e. the method to show a texture upon a square, as been configured to eliminate the Alpha channel , with thousand of porting errors...

OK, I'll keep some update more, before the process could be considered completed.
